Dear Friends and Family,
Very last minute (June 18 through June 27, 2018), I've had the good fortune to be invited to volunteer at a program as a part of the organization Make A Difference (MAD) - Helping End Poverty Through Education. For the program, I will be traveling to Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro, to teach chess in the area. We will be teaching kids and teachers, so that teachers may teach other kids in the future. As part of the trip, I am raising money to help with education, food, and housing for the youth in Tanzania that the program supports. Although I have a $1,000 target minimum, I have set my funding goal at $2,500 because I believe in the benefits of education; I know how chess can help shape the mind and character of young kids. All the funds will be going directly to support the kids. This is a completely new experience for me personally. Many of my friends know that I love chess. I have been a tournament player for years, and I am a US titled chess national master. However, what they may not know is that I value education, equally, and I cannot wait to make a difference with MAD. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this, and if you know anyone else who would be interested in helping me serve others or even just promote the game of chess, don't hesitate to share this page with them.
This is a last minute trip for me. I will appreciate making donations sooner so that we can deliver the funds to the kids soon.
Cheers,
Kola Adeyemi
