Elaine's Bat Mitzvah Fundraiser - Make-A-Wish
My name's Elaine. I'm 13ish. I'm having a Bat Mitzvah on June 8th, 2024. My congregation is telling all of he students that they must do a communal charity project. For example, you could donate cleats to a soccer company that helps give kids clothes to wear. I chose the Make-A-Wish Foundation to raise money for children who need their wishes granted.
Make-a-Wish is a charity foundation that has kids write letters and ask for wishes, and then Make-a-Wish grants one of three wishes no matter the cost. I heard about Make-a-Wish through a Broadway musical. Kimberly Akimbo, the musical I got inspiration from is about an almost 16-year-old girl who is going to die soon because she ages 4.5 times faster than every other human on earth, and she wishes for a treehouse, and they grant it.
Make-A-Wish Foundation is important to me because I know that sometimes life can be hard, especially when you're young, and sometimes you might need something to cheer you up. These little kids have so much to live for, but they're not going to live for it, so we need to help them live a better life.
