Urgent Appeal to Save Our Clinics
Dear Potential Donor,
I hope this communication finds you in good health and high spirits. I am coming to you today with a heavy heart, as Shaw Family Medical and all of its locations are facing the imminent threat of closure. We are reaching out to the public in the hopes that you can help us in this time of crisis.
For almost 12 years, Shaw Family Medical has been a beacon of hope and healing for the underserved members of our community. For 32 years, Gough’s Family Medical Clinic, under the management of the late Dr. Walter Gough, provided the only access to medical care in Drew, MS. We have provided essential healthcare services to those who cannot afford medical care, ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to their well-being. We have provided school-based clinic services since 2017 to anyone needing care regardless of their insurance situation at no out-of-pocket expense to any students.
We have provided the educational and training foundation for many healthcare professionals in the area including 27 nurse practitioners, 50 phlebotomists and 40 medical assistants in the Delta.
Despite our tireless efforts, the financial burden on our clinic has become overwhelming. Many unfortunate circumstances related to staff turnover, coupled with rising operational costs and reduced government funding, has pushed us to the brink of closure. Without immediate financial assistance, we will be forced to shut down our doors, leaving thousands of vulnerable individuals without access to vital healthcare services.
We understand that times are tough for everyone, and we appreciate any support that you have already provided. If it were not for the help of many close friends and family members, we would have closed long ago. However, we are now facing a critical moment that requires urgent action. We kindly ask that you consider making a donation to our clinics, no matter the amount. Your contribution will go directly towards sustaining our operations, paying for medical supplies, and retaining our dedicated staff.
