Mariners' Temple Baptist Church is fundraising
Miracle for Mariners'
Mariners' Temple Baptist Church is seeking financial support as we embark upon emergency exterior repairs of our 179-year-old church edifice. We are seeking partners who will provide grants and donations to meet our immediate need for $60,000. Your donation will be used to respond to an Emergency Declaration from the New York City Department of Buildings (dated 7/20/2023), the costs of erecting emergency shedding/scaffolding, permits, and fees so we can continue our important community services without interruption.
Mariners' Temple Baptist Church, located at the intersection of Henry and Oliver Streets, is "the oldest site of continuous Baptist worship in Manhattan" and ministry at the site dates to 1795 (New York State Landmark). Today, we continue to serve over 2000 marginalized individuals annually through food programs, clothing distribution, affinity and support groups, service referrals, and spiritual guidance. During disasters such as 9/11, Superstorm Sandy, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the church remained a haven for support and comfort in the Lower Eastside/Chinatown Community. You can read more about our services on our church website
We thank you for your assistance via donations and for sharing our fundraiser!
