Help Kimberly Ocampo’s Journey Inspiring Others
Purpose of This Fundraising Campaign.
Recently, Kimberly's specially-equipped car with driver controls was rear-ended by a hit-and-run driver, resulting in the total loss of her 15-year-old car. This has made it challenging for her to attend physical therapy sessions and has halted her speaking engagements, which our charity offers to student audiences. The purpose of this fundraiser is to get Kimberly back on the road again.
Planned Budget for Funds
Our charity is sponsoring two fundraising campaigns. This gofundme campaign is to raise funds for driver controls and a special driver's seat from which Kimberly can transfer from the wheelchair to the driver's seat.
Another fundraising campaign is to aquire an appropriate vehicle as we await the lengthy process of applying for grants.
The cost estimate is for driver controls is $1,000 to $1,500.
A swivel seat to accommodate transfer from wheelchair to driver's seat estimate is $1,500 to $2,500.
Total need is estimated to be $4,000 which is the goal of this campaign which allows for unexpected costs.
Bluebird Awards plans to apply to Bridge to Mobility for their last dollar funding grant of up to $5,000 for purchase of a suitable vehicle. Other grant sources are being investigated as we try to gather the necessary funding.
Join us in supporting Kimberly, our dedicated goodwill ambassador who tirelessly represents our charity. Kimberly's vital work is currently on hold and made her travel to and from therapy sessions very difficult. Your support can make a significant difference in her life and enable her to continue her inspiring journey and impactful work.
Kimberly is a remarkable young lady whose courage in facing adversity is truly amazing. She strives to be independent in every way as an artist, singer, composer, dancer, motivational speaker and more. She is one of those rare individuals who give everything but asks nothing in return.

About Our Mission
Our charity aims to provide a vehicle with driver controls for Kimberly to use for travel to speaking engagements. It will also enable her to travel to therapy and participate in a research project about spinal cord injuries.
As one of our nonprofit organization's featured speakers, Kimberly has delivered motivational talks to up to 900 students in school assemblies, addressing topics such as gratitude, compassion, and how a positive mental attitude can change a child's life for the better.
Our nonprofit extends support to at-risk children and teenagers, focusing on providing emotional assistance through sports, learning activities, and messages of hope. We offer motivational speakers for children and youth to student audiences. These inspiring talks uplift and encourage individuals to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams, thus improving the student body culture.
Kimberly's Story
Kimberly Ocampo is an inspiring individual who has overcome significant challenges to pursue her dreams. In 2015, while riding her bicycle to work, she was hit by a car in a severe accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Despite this, she remained determined to follow her passion for dance.
Despite the unfortunate accident, Kimberly remains one of the most positive individuals you could ever hope to meet. In addition to her volunteer work as a goodwill ambassador for our charity, she generously gives her time visiting nursing homes and tirelessly working for the good of others. Despite the demanding efforts of physical therapy, Kimberly is determined to walk again.
Originally from New Jersey, Kimberly moved to Miami to pursue her dance career. She had planned to audition for the Miami Heat Dancers before her accident. After her injury, she worked hard on her rehabilitation and eventually became an honorary Miami Heat Dancer. Her story of resilience and determination has touched many hearts.
Kimberly is an ambassador for the Wings For Life World Run, a global event that raises funds for spinal cord injury research. Her dedication and positive outlook continue to inspire many. Recently, she performed at Cleveland’s renowned Severance Hall, home to the Cleveland Orchestra since 1931 and one of the world’s most beautiful concert venues. She received a standing ovation from an adoring audience of 2,000 attendees. The video is from that performance.
Beyond her talents in dance, Kimberly is also an accomplished singer and artist. She actively invests in her community as a motivational speaker through our charity, Bluebird Awards, where she discusses the importance of a positive mental attitude and its impact on various mental health issues affecting children and teenagers.
Founded in 2021, The Medical Workers Scholarship Fund is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) tax-deductible public charity (EIN 86-3946005) doing business as Bluebird Awards. Founded by Rod Miller during the pandemic, it soon became evident that COVID-19 would significantly impact the mental health of children and teens. Our mission is to make a positive difference in student body culture everywhere.
