The United Methodist Africa Forum (UMAF) is a group of United Methodists from across Africa dedicated to promoting unity and the future of The United Methodist Church in Africa.

The forum seeks to work with all United Methodists from across the connection towards building a strong worldwide denomination. The forum exists to promote African ideas, and to further the mission and ministry of the United Methodist Church within the African context, whilst engaging with other United Methodists from across the connection in their unique contexts.

Through its various initiatives, the Forum seeks to create a unified and strong United Methodist Church in Africa that is capable of responding to the challenges of the modern world. The Forum also works to ensure that the United Methodist Church in Africa remains vibrant, relevant and true to its core values and teachings. In accomplishing this the United Methodist Church will continue to be the beacon of faith and hope in Africa.

As the Forum, we value and respect diversity and contextual differences across our denomination, while promoting our African contextual realities in advancing the ministries of the church. The Forum believes that restructuring through regionalization is the best way forward into the future for The United Methodist Church as we leverage the gifts and graces of faithful believers across geographical locations.

The United Methodist Africa Forum is hosting its first gathering, April 21-24, 2023 in Johannesburg and we need your help to make it a success! The gathering will bring together United Methodists from across Africa to celebrate and advance our ministries as we look into the future of the denomination. We aim to raise US$60K to cover flights, accommodation and meals for the event. Your generous donations will help us bring together United Methodist participants from across Africa for this important event.
