Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre

On February 7th, our beloved home, The Warwick Theater, was partially destroyed by an overnight fire. While the stage luckily remains intact, our infrastructure was decimated - our office, computers, records, priceless library of thousands of costumes, all building utilities and the structure of the back end of the building were severely damaged. In order to reach the fire, the fire department also had to demolish parts of the lobby. Since the fire, the Warwick has been robbed 5 times, and further props, costumes, and other property are now gone. We are still assessing the damage, but unfortunately, we can already tell our insurance coverage will not be sufficient to cover repairs and our performers' pay. Our goal may shift as we learn more.

At this time, we are in urgent need of funding to save the remaining infrastructure, keep our performers employed (we are grateful to our community for the alternate rehearsal spaces that have been offered to us!) and begin to rebuild. We love this city, our arts community and our beloved Warwick Theater, and are prepared to fight for its future. But we need your help.
