Update: "It's my 94th birthday"

Rabbi Alexander Milchtein received a phone call from "Yosef". He said "it's my 94th birthday today. I have no relatives here and no one to share this with. It's first year that I don't celebrate. I wanted at least to let you know."

Every night, the children deliver latkes, candles and other food to the elderly.

No one should feel alone at this time.


We are now at the incredible moment of the darkness before the dawn.  G-d willing, the COVID-19 pandemic will become a distant memory with the recent development of a vaccine.
 

Every Chanukah in years past, we organized nightly celebrations.  The elderly sat together with their friends, reminisced about their childhood, and were spiritually uplifted.  Sadly, a public celebration is not realistic for this high risk population  and they continue to be hunkered down in their homes.  This year, our goal is to deliver this Chanukah experience to their apartments.  No one should go hungry or without this “human touch”

Milwaukee Synagogue's food pantry is responding every day. Help us address the increased need during this pandemic by donating funds today especially during Chanukah. Supplies at the East Sides only food pantry  are limited because there is a decreased sense of urgency.

We are currently facing continued challenges in our community by delivering food essentials to elderly food pantry clients.  Due to a lack of infrastructure that supports a mobile food pantry, our resources are being strained.

No one should go hungry – now or ever – and Milwaukee Synagogue's food pantry is responding every day especially now with high food prices and increasing demand due to the cold winter months

G-d willing, the COVID-19 pandemic will become a distant memory with
the recent developments.

As we approach Passover, we want to let you know that we are thinking
about you and praying that we should all see this plague leave as
quickly as it came.  Many in our community are suffering losses of a
personal and economic nature. We share in your pain.

Every year our family organizes community seders in multiple
locations.  This year the seders are with social distancing
and we also distributing supplies for the remote locations.

We are looking for your support to our Maos Chitim fund. We need to provide
many with Matzah and everything else they need to keep up their spirits and show them that Am Yisrael Chai even during the current emergency. Wishing you all a kosher and joyous Passover!

May we all be merit to see the final redemption immediately!
