Miora

MiOra is campaigning to raise funds on providing local, vulnerable communities with COVID-19 Home Kits that includes a tote bag with an infographic, face shields, face masks, a hospital sheet, and a CPR training system.

Currently, MiOra interns Niyati Panchal and Shalini Jose are assisting with fundraising efforts to fund Stop COVID-19 At Home kits.

Your donation will help provide kits to those who have restricted access to proper healthcare. More specifically, communities that are disproportionately affected by COVID-19, such as black and brown populations. Help us stop the spread of the virus one community at a time.

MiOra is a national 501©3 (Tax no:81-1740282) established in Los Angeles in 2016 with a mission is to improve the diversity in STEM and healthcare fields. MiOra achieves its mission by providing, no-barrier, flexible, experiential public health internships to passionate students (high school-post graduates). Students at MiOra strengthen their skills while giving back to their community. Students have the opportunity to collect data, publish their findings and network with local leaders.

STOP COVID19 at HOME Project

 
Every day the number of COVID-19 cases is rising exponentially in the Bay Area and all over the country despite masking campaigns. 

Without proper knowledge on how to stop the spread of the virus at home and proper supplies, many families are vulnerable. That is why we started the STOP COVID19 at HOME campaign, to prevent the spread of the virus inside home.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to stop the spread of COVID-19 at home by providing a prevention kit and direct guidance to the affected person and the family at home.

Purpose:

Our goal is to preliminarily serve the Bay Area by raising $10,000 to build COVID-19 prevention kits and distribute them to testing sites in hospitals, clinics, and laboratories to hand to patients. 

Each prevention kit will include: 

-2 adjustable clear face-shields, 

-10  FDA approved Surgical Face Masks

-a portable curtain, 

-a fillable contact tracer sheet with a link to Department of Health contact tracing resources, 

-a multi-language web-based quick training tool and a detailed infographic for home display 


Our Team:

United2Care, a local Bay Area nonprofit run by high schoolers will be partnering with MiOra (Home; @mioraconnection), a national public health education nonprofit established in Los Angeles, California to conduct this campaign

United2Care is a local bay area non-profit 501©3 (Tax no: 83-2925612)  established in 2017 with mission to spread hand sanitation awareness in rural communities around the world. Since its establishment, United2Care has launched several projects in India and Kenya spreading the importance of handwashing. Due to COVID-19, United2Care has had to postpone its projects in Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Mexico this summer, and instead has decided to launch a Stop COVID-19 Project within the Bay Area. United2Care Website
