Hello everyone! If I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, my name is Dylan Sinople. I am a rising senior at Cuthbertson High School this year and a swimmer at TEAM Charlotte and the Millbridge summer league team. For the last four years, I have volunteered at Misty Meadows Mitey Riders, an incredible organization of volunteers who give a fantastic experience to special needs children through equestrian therapy right here in Waxhaw. I want to leave a lasting impact before I inevitably leave for college, so I am using my love of swim and my passion for this organization to create a fundraiser where swimmers from my team and I can raise money while swimming. What is Misty Meadows Mitey Riders?:

Mitey Riders is a non-profit organization made up of a small group of volunteers who operate in Misty Meadows Farm (455 Providence Rd S), created by Harry Swimmer, one of the top ten 2016 CNN heroes and an equestrian lover. Mitey Riders uses horses to give children with special needs an incredible opportunity to ride a horse and feel empowered, all while learning essential skills that will help them and their parents in daily life. Mitey Riders' budget is funded solely by the generous contributions of their sponsors, individual donors, volunteers, and Mitey Rider families. These contributions enable them to offer therapeutic riding at no charge to the riders' families.

For the past 25+ years, Mitey Riders has become a place where children with disabilities can experience the freedom that the back of a horse provides. Volunteering here has been one of my most fulfilling experiences, and I want to help keep the program around for many years to come. Any donation, no matter how small, is appreciated.

Hi Everyone,

For my mitzvah project, I have decided to work with Mitey Riders, a program that provides kids with disabilities to find enrichment with horses. Mitey Riders take horses that are in retirement and pairs them with special needs children. I have loved what I have learned about the program as the founder is a family friend, which makes it even more personal. I am happy to support them because I love to see young kids with disabilities care for animals the way I do.

Mitey Riders has been providing these services for over 25 years and each day they believe that horses have the power to bring confidence, strength and wellbeing to their riders, no matter their challenges. Like I have experienced, the riders benefit from the special bond of human-horse connections.
