More Than Self a US based nonprofit is raising funds or a school in rural Guatemala. Imagine a school where children eagerly each day, hungry for knowledge and eager to learn, yet their only teacher stands alone, armed with dedication but lacking the basic tools to educate them effectively This is the reality of the rural school in Guatemala we aim to support.

The school in Del Canton Panimache Quinto Bajo between Solola and Chichicastenango, Guatemala is in an isolated and forgotten part of the country. The school and a one day a month health clinic are the only connection the community has with life outside the community.

The luxury of having water piped to the homes is uncommon in rural areas. This water station is where chickens and vegetables are washed to eat, dishes and clothes are cleaned and where you take a bath. The water in rural Guatemala must be boiled before you can drink it as a way of preventing parasites and amoebas from entering the body causing severe health issues.

Situated amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Guatemala, our humble school serves as a beacon of hope in a sea of poverty. However, hope alone cannot fill the void of essential supplies and resources desperately needed for these children to receive a quality education.

In this remote region, where access to basic necessities is a daily struggle, our school operates with minimal resources. With just one teacher for forty students spanning grades 1-5, the challenges are immense. Imagine the dedication and effort required to meet the diverse needs of students across different grades, all while facing a scarcity of educational materials and resources.

**Donate Funds to Purchase Supplies** Essential supplies such as textbooks, notebooks, pencils, and educational games can make a world of difference in the learning experience of these children. We also need teacher supplies, paper, scissors, glue, markers and books, Your contribution, no matter how small, can have a profound impact on their education. It is much more cost effective, so all supplies will be purchased in Guatemala and delivered to the school.

**Financial Support** Your generous donations will enable us to hire a second teacher to work with the older students and provide ta reason for current and past students to continue their education. We have a qualified teacher ready to instruct the older students, and now we need the funds to pay him and provide him with the basic supplies he will need to be an effective force for his students. Every dollar counts in this mission to empower these children with the gift of education.

Students should not be teaching themselves because of a lack of funds. They should always have a qualified teacher supporting them as they prepare for their futures. You have the chance to help with a $5, $10, $20 or more donation. Education is their Key to a bright future.

**Our team in Guatemala is Ready** to purchase and deliver the materials and supplies for this school year which started in February. It's not too late to give these students the opportunity to complete the full year of education that they eagerly want.

**The Goal is to Raise $5000 for the School Year. **Within the $5000 budget, $3500 is to be spent on the salary for a second teacher, which is the standard rate for a teacher in Guatemala. The remainder of the funds is to provide each student each student with basic supplies such as notebooks, pencils, crayons, glue and markers. the budget also allows each teacher to have $250 for supplies, special projects and equipment for the school building.
