Courtni Kopietz is fundraising
#100miles4research
My dad and I will be walking +100 miles through Portugal and Spain on the Camino de Santiago trail April 15-28, 2016 to celebrate my 19th year cancer free! We are raising donations to benefit biomedical research at the Morgridge Institute for Research.
I was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997, and while research has progressed at incredible rates, there's still more work to do to help cancer patients worldwide.
On my 19th anniversary cancer-free, I am running this #100miles4research campaign to benefit the Morgridge Institute for Research, a nonprofit biomedical research institute in Madison, Wisc., where I work as a science communicator.
Every day, I see dedicated scientists working to understand, unravel, and unlock ways to advance research and improve human health. They're coming up with innovative ways to tackle cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, and many other promising research advances in stem cell therapies, medical engineering, and virus control and prevention.
Your gift to #100miles4research will not only honor my childhood battle with cancer, but will directly contribute to biomedical research! A gift of any amount makes a difference!
** All profits from this campaign are benefiting the Morgridge Institute -- no donor gifts are sponsoring our travel. **
