Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the LA Wildfires. The unimaginable arrived at our doorstep last week, and it’s up to all of us now to support everyone who has suffered loss, displacement, or the uncertainty that comes with such a devastating event and help in the rebuilding of lives and our community.
We’ve partnered with MPTF to support relief and recovery efforts for those impacted by the recent wildfires in L.A. County, with a particular focus on the Eaton Fire in Altadena. As recently highlighted by The Hollywood Reporter, for over 100 years, MPTF has been a trusted resource for the entertainment community, providing critical support during times of crisis and helping individuals navigate the challenges of recovery. Together, we are providing individualized supportive services and distributing emergency assistance - including direct financial grants to qualified affected individuals, or gift cards of up to $250 for essential needs at retailers and local grocery stores. These resources are designed to help individuals and families access food, clothing, supplies & support as they begin to recover.
Beyond immediate financial assistance, MPTF uniquely offers a holistic, team-based support system around affected individuals to provide additional services to those affected by the wildfires. These include guidance on navigating insurance claims, counseling from experts trained in PTSD and trauma-related care, and help accessing county, state, and federal resources, as well as support from organizations like the Red Cross.
MPTF's resource guide for individuals in navigating the recovery process, as well as hotline to their team of dedicated social workers, can be accessed via their dedicated wildfire resource website HERE. If you identify as a member of the entertainment industry (active or retired), just call and they are ready to offer support and services.
During this challenging time, MPTF is here to ensure no one has to face the road to recovery alone. Thank you for making a difference. We love you!
Note: MPTF has a Four-Star rating on Charity Navigator for its financial efficiency, sustainability, trustworthiness, and real positive impact. For those interested in supporting additional grants for wildfire victims beyond our industry, please see additional opportunities to give via Chef Jose Andres' World Central Kitchen, the National Domestic Workers' Alliance's We Care: Relief Fund, and GoFundMe's Wildfire Relief Fund.
