ADAPTIVE METHODS FOR ALL MINDS AND BODIES
Hello Everyone,
Yoga and education reform have always been two causes I hold near and dear to my heart. Move Through Yoga was borne as a byproduct of watching students from all academic, athletic, and socioeconomic backgrounds experience stress and not having coping mechanisms to move through it.
We are also committed to training and coaching professionals and caretakers who work with individuals with I/DD.
To date: Since 2019 we have served close to 1,000 students in 30 schools in Jefferson County School District and 9 Denver Public Schools.
Move Through Yoga (501(c)(3)) would love to
- Continue expanding our reach to Colorado School Districts and... Nationwide!
- Continue training and coaching new adaptive yoga instructors who work with the I/DD population.
Your donation will go directly toward:
- (Breathe with us) - Implementing our program in a school that otherwise would have a difficult time getting funding, and/or providing props (and supplies) for an in-school program.
- (Move with us) - Training and coaching a school, agency, or care team provider who wants to learn how to implement our methodology in their own space and time.
- (Grow with us) - Enhancing our organizational infrastructure which includes staffing requirements to facilitate our programming.
What: Move Through Yoga is a nonprofit founded on bringing accessible and inclusive adaptive yoga and mindfulness programming to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities.
How: By providing a comprehensive health and wellbeing curriculum rooted in academic standards, and by providing adaptive yoga to students during their school day. And, by providing training and coaching to those who want to guide their students on how to move and breathe.
