Music for Food

1 in 9 people in the United States struggles with food insecurity, and CIM musicians are making a difference. Now in its twelfth season and operating in twelve U.S. cities, Music for Food benefit concerts raise funds to provide more than 1.5 million meals for nearly 100 hunger-relief organizations.

 

By supporting CIM’s Student Government Association’s annual Music for Food benefit concert, you're directly benefitting our local partner Cleveland Kosher Food Pantry. Every dollar raised through this concert will go to the Pantry, which was founded 40 years ago as a support network assisting Russian immigrants with jobs, food and clothing. Today, the Pantry serves a diverse population as a partner agency to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. When you make a gift, you're helping our neighbors access the food they need.

 

The Music for Food benefit concert takes place on Wednesday, February 23 at 7:00 pm EST in Mixon Hall and via livestream. For seating passes, program and performer information, and safety protocols, visit the event page on CIM's website.

 

With a goal of raising $50,000 to help our community in this trying time, CIM’s Student Government Association invites you to join us in bringing the music of Chebotaryan, Debussy, Still, Ysaÿe, Piazzolla, Bozza, and Brahms to Cleveland’s ears, and food to its table.

CIM's Student Government Association (SGA) is the first and foremost organization through which students can appeal to the administration. We are here to represent the needs, welfare and the well-being of all students at CIM, from undergraduate freshmen to graduate students and doctoral candidates. Music for Food is driven by the spirit of volunteerism, and it could not exist without the support of its musicians and its audience.

> Musicians give performances and choose a local pantry to support.
> Audience members donate — as their budget allows — to benefit the designated pantry, which receives 100% of the contributions.
> The pantry then creates meals for those in need.
