Muttville

In honor of the best old-lady dog friend Abuela, I'd like to give the opportunity to 10 people to adopt another senior like her. The charity I'd like to donate to (Muttville) charges a $200 adoption fee, so that's what makes the $2,000 goal!

Senior dogs rarely get adopted, as you can imagine why — but they still often have so much love to give. Abuela was one of the best things to ever happen to me, and I want to share that possibility with the world.

The day after Abuela died, I was distraught, and had all of her belongings that I couldn't bear to look at. On my way to the SF SPCA (also a great org!) to donate them, I drove past this smaller place, called Muttville. As I drove by, I saw their sign and realized it was a shelter for seniors! When I decided to donate to them, they were so kind to me, and of course they understood how I felt. Let's raise some money for this great cause, and get more Abuelas out of shelters and into loving homes!

More information about Muttville: Muttville is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of senior dogs and our community. We RESCUE AND MEDICALLY CARE FOR older dogs facing euthanasia and find them loving families for the remainder of their lives; EDUCATE the community about the joys of senior dogs and empower people of all ages to participate in our life saving and heartwarming work; and EASE the loneliness and sense of isolation felt by many senior citizens in our community.

I am a 6th grade student living in Northern California and I want to raise money for the amazing foundation,  Muttville the senior dog rescue who care for all dogs and try to have senior dogs adopted. My reason to do this is that senior dogs don't get adopted as much and sometimes even abandoned. I want to raise $2,000 to give 20 senior dogs vaccines and medications. I hope to raise this by MAY 7TH. My dog is my life companion and my best friend even though she is a large dog and is 6 years old I would never leave her. I feel horrible about the people who would abandon their dogs so I want to have these dogs treated so they are more likely to get a new home. I would be very grateful for any support you could provide.

Tragically, on March 18th, CFPH member Fernando Nava passed away. Everyone at CFPH will miss him deeply. We'll always remember his smiling face, friendly demeanor and incredible running speed! His family informed us that as a dog lover, donating to an organzation such as Muttville would honor his memory.
