GreenMind Initiative is a student-led summer project that combines environmental cleanup with mental health awareness and charitable giving. The initiative brings together volunteers to restore NYC parks while promoting the idea that cleaner public spaces contribute to clearer minds and stronger communities.

By organizing frequent park cleanups, the project creates opportunities for youth and community members to reflect, reconnect with nature, and support a cause that affects millions. In addition to the physical impact, the initiative raises funds for mental health nonprofits such as Active Minds and NAMI NYC, linking environmental care with direct contributions to mental well-being.

Support Mental Health with NAMI – Give the Gift of Healing

Mental health care should be accessible to all—not just a privilege for those who can afford it. Sadly, far too many individuals, especially in underserved communities, struggle in silence due to financial barriers. Mindful Voices was created to change that.

I am partnering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to raise $10,000 to provide therapy sessions and mental health education for those who need it most. Every dollar donated goes toward funding life-changing mental health resources for individuals who might not otherwise have access.

How Your Donation Helps

✅ $6,000 – Direct Therapy Support Provides 120+ counseling sessions for individuals in need, ensuring immediate access to care.

✅ $2,000 – Mental Health Awareness Campaign Supports workshops, outreach, and education to break the stigma and equip at least 500 people with mental wellness tools.

✅ $1,200 – Educational & Fundraising Materials Creates t-shirts, posters, and wellness resources to amplify awareness and inspire lasting change.

✅ $800 – Admin & Coordination Costs Covers platform fees, volunteer support, and tools needed to keep our mission running effectively.

Hi, my name is Ava. I'm an 8th-grade student who is passionate about spreading awareness for something that affects too many of us to not be educated about—mental health. For my project for school, I chose to create a mental health awareness campaign, something to create real change in the world.

Every $5 helps, and if you're not in a place to give, just sharing this page would help tremendously! Share this with your friends, family, or classmates, anyone.

Every single day, kids, teens, and adults struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, and emotions they don't always know how to handle. Many of us are told to "be strong" or "get over it," but I strongly believe asking for help is actually a sign of strength, not weakness. It's okay to not be okay. Rather, it's not okay to struggle in silence; people normalize it now, unfortunately, but we're making steps to change that, even if small.

This is why I started a mental health campaign—to try to help break the stigma and remind people that mental health is just as important as physical health. My goal is to raise $200 to support the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), an amazing non-profit that offers support and education for families and youth, helps people find the help they need, and actively fights to make mental health care more accessible to everyone. All donations will go directly towards a non-profit organization that makes a difference.

Honoring the Legacy of Damien Boiardi
As many of you may already know, our dear friend and esteemed colleague, Damien Boiardi, passed away recently. His sudden departure has left a profound void in our hearts and within the community he took part in. With a heavy heart but also with a deep sense of purpose and determination, I look to honor his memory.

Damien was more than just a coworker or salesperson but a confidant and a friend. His intelligence shined through his individualistic perspectives that were always engaging, even when not agreeable. He brought charisma and energy, even when in pessimism, that made him a joy to be around. He was a deep thinker who interloped his love of history, politics, cars, watches, and sneakers. He was able to climb the corporate ranks over 15 years since starting during the doldrums of the GFC; Sitting shoulder to shoulder with him during that time period was not an easy chore and it is one I miss every day.

I invite you to join me in honoring Damien's memory by contributing to this meaningful cause. Your generosity will not only commemorate his life but will also serve as a lasting testament to the profound impact he had on each of us and the community at large. Yael Barack, 31, of New York, NY, passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2019. She was born March 8, 1988 in Boston, MA, the daughter of Meir and Miriam Barack. Yael was a nanny and student of social work. Yael Graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from University of South Florida and recently received a certificate of phlebotomy from ASA College

Yael is survived by her parents Meir and Miriam of Tampa, FL; her sister Limor and brother Nadav, brother in law Nick, her niece Eliana and nephew Gabriel. She also leaves her maternal grandparents, Itzhak and Chasia Zuckerman and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

A remembrance ceremony will be held at 11:00-11:30am at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ on May 12th, 2019. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to NAMI, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization. Donations can also be made directly at: https://donate.nami.org

Support a Second Chance: Healing Through Photography
In June of 2024, I got very close to successfully ending my life. By God's grace, I survived and started my journey of healing myself, and in that beginning, I found that I felt seen and real in the most unreal moments. Those breathtaking moments that words can't describe. Because of this, I chose to start a photography business. To show my gratitude for my second chance and to raise awareness and resources, I have decided to dedicate 10% of my profits to NAMI and encourage my viewers to donate even if they don't purchase anything because you never know what the people in your life are going through, and it is almost always a shock when the worst happens. I hope by this we can prevent more people from feeling the way I felt when I made the decision that could have cost me my life.
