About National Immigration Law Center

Founded in 1979, the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) is one of the leading advocacy organizations in the U.S. exclusively dedicated to defending and advancing the rights and opportunities of low-income immigrants and their loved ones. Over the past four decades, NILC has undertaken litigation, advocacy, communications/narrative change, and movement-building efforts to make it possible for low-income immigrants to live healthy and safe lives, and to help build a more welcoming society for everyone in the U.S., which is crucial to sustaining a pluralistic, inclusive democracy. Nationally recognized as a movement leader with deep policy and legal expertise, we pride ourselves as an organization committed to working at the intersection of immigrant, racial, and economic justice.
