Racing to Beat Leiomyosarcoma
All,
A group of us—Christian Mund, MacKenzie Zinc, John Redmond, Steven Lee-Kramer, and Kyle Rogers—are participating in the Lake Placid half Ironman this fall. We are racing in support of the National LeioMyoSarcoma Foundation, a non-profit searching for a cure for this rare form of cancer. This cause is close to our hearts, as Anneliese Seitz-Mund passed away on January 9, 2017, after battling for 9 months.
Mrs. Seitz-Mund was a contributor and donated her time to the New England Hemophilia Foundation and the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, giving children with hemophilia and chronic illnesses the opportunity to be themselves.
Mrs. Seitz-Mund was also a big supporter of all things Syracuse, as her brother, 2 nieces, and son all attended Syracuse University. She was a big supporter of the Syracuse University Men’s Rowing Team, which a few of us competed on. She and her Husband ran the food tent for three years and loved being at all of our events.
All funds raised will be donated to the LeioMyoSarcoma Foundation in her name. Thank you for your support!

Note: We are allowing for a second donation option for this event, for those extra eager donators! For a little extra motivation, we encourage donators to pledge x amount for every 15 minutes the team finishes below a combined 30 hours on race day. For reference, we’re targeting a total time of 27.5 hours (which would be a multiplier of 10). If you choose this option, please inform one of us the amount you’re pledging, and we will notify you of your total pledged donation amount after the race is completed. Thanks again for all your support!
