20 mile Swim for Education
Upon my arrival in New Orleans, I learned that Hispanics played a critical role in rebuilding New Orleans after Katrina's destruction. Hispanic construction workers came to New Orleans' rescue when the city most needed help. This December, I will be doing a fundraising swim from Cozumel to mainland Mexico (about 20 miles / 32km) on December 27th starting at 4am in a relay with my parents benefitting the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation, an organization which provides scholarships to talented high school and university students that would otherwise not be able to continue their education. As a Hispanic privileged to attend Isidore Newman School, I am very motivated to help both the NOHHF and my school, with all proceeds of the swim going towards a scholarship to Isidore Newman School. It is a small way to give back to a community that has given so much to this city.
Any donations of any size will truly make an impact. Thank you!
