North Bay Aquatics

• North Bay placed 8 swimmers on the Scholastic All-American Team, the highest total in our program history (Previous high was 6 in 2021). We placed in the top 35 for most swimmers for a single club in the country.
•  North Bay finished as a Silver Medal Team in the USA Swimming Club Excellence program for the first time in program history, finishing 78th in the country (Previous high was 115th in 2015). There are some 3,000 clubs in the US.
• 8 current collegiate first-year students competing for their school’s varsity swim program, representing Indiana, Navy, USC, Georgetown, UC San Diego, Oberlin College, and Pomona-Pitzer.
• Started a new seasonal training group, the “Varsity Group,” to expand North Bay’s impact within the Marin swim community
• Established 40 new team records
• Finished 4th at the California/Nevada Sectional Spring Championship meet - the 3 teams that finished above us are 6-10 times the size of our program
• Currently sending 10 swimmers to Austin, Texas for the Winter Junior National Championships in December. This is the fastest 18 Under Short Course meet in the country and more than 10% of our team is currently qualified

Hello and Welcome to 2020 Angel Fund!

NBA Masters swimmers know all about our annual Angel Fund drive. For those of you new to our program in the last 11 months here is a quick primer.
Many of the youth on our team earn the right to travel to regional and national competitions by swimming fast qualifying times. This involves an additional cost to their swimming beyond the normal monthly dues. Masters Angel Fund ensures that all who earn a trip can afford to go. It also helps with monthly dues scholarships
 
This year is different – of course! We are not traveling but we still pay dues. And monthly costs have increased due to pool restrictions and it being a seller’s market in terms of pool rentals. Normally monthly dues are $435. This year they are $615. The number of those asking for scholarship has increased due to the COVID issues surrounding the parents’ work.

So, we are asking you to donate in whatever amount you can do comfortably. We will set our goal, as in the past, at $20,000. We have over 200 swimmers registered with NBA. We would love to set a modest goal of a least 100 contributors.

Do what you can comfortably do. And if you do not have the means then simply root for us! Your spirit means the world to our youngsters.

NBA Masters Community – Best Ever…of course

Hello NBA Masters Swimmers;

A quick note for us all to remember –swimmers and coaches; supporters and parents. NBA is ONE TEAM with several training groups that reflect the many and varied interest levels of our entire team. Each of us benefits directly from 2 main focal points: 
1. our level of interest 
2. our level of contribution

Our interest level changes as our life changes. NBA is “cradle to grave” so we are always here for you.

Contribution comes in many forms, yes financial, but also in terms of participation in workouts, encouraging others especially when you feel low yourself and even a simple cup of coffee to share friendship. Case in point; many of you have said “Thanks Coach” after a workout. That lifts me. Those are simple words but they have a positive effect.


 
The Swim Angel Fund is for 2 purposes:
1. travel assistance to Regional and National meets for those who have EARNED the trip and need some help
2. for SCHOLARSHIP awards for monthly training dues for those in need

This year we travel to Seattle, Clovis, San Diego, Phoenix, Orlando and Omaha (plus perhaps a couple of others depending upon the racing schedule). These meets are the “carrot” helping swimmers get up 3xweekly for Strength & Conditioning 5:50-7AM plus 6 weekly swims (we take Friday off but do train on Saturday and Sunday). 

Our monthly training dues are $415. 


Our goal this season is to raise $20,000 and have at least 100 Masters swimmers participate. As an idea; $200-500 buys an airplane ticket, $100 is a room for the night, $40 is dinner. Every dollar does help and adds to the collective ability of the high level swimmer who is dedicated to push their boundaries.



Travel to Regional and National meets puts these swimmers on the colleges’ radar. Your contributions make trips and training possible for all who earn/need help.

Currently around 20% of NBA’s overhead is not covered by the monthly practice fees/dues. A gift of any amount will help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 to close that gap and every swimmer will benefit.
