A Forever Home for NCMC
There's no place like home...
The Northampton Community Music Center (NCMC) is raising funds to purchase the historic South Street School building as its forever home.
OUR MISSION
NCMC is a not-for-profit arts organization in Northampton, MA, that was founded in 1986 to foster the love and pursuit of music through quality musical education, performances and activities that are accessible to all.
FINDING OUR HOME
After operating in various temporary spaces during its first 10 years of existence, NCMC launched its first capital campaign to renovate the South Street School building, which had sat vacant and dilapidated for more than 15 years.
Over the past 22 years of leasing the property from the City of Northampton, NCMC has raised and invested approximately $1.5 million dollars to make the property an inspiring environment for residents of Western Massachusetts to learn and make music.
NCMC now has an opportunity to purchase the South Street School from the City of Northampton at a significantly reduced price. Finally, NCMC will have a permanent home.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
NCMC needs to raise $30,000 by July 15, 2019. Thanks to a grant from the Beveridge Family Foundation, your donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar! With your support, NCMC can secure a mortgage that lowers our monthly expenses, allowing us to budget more for scholarships and services.

In 2018, NCMC both saw its highest enrollment and awarded more scholarships than ever before in its 33-year history. Beyond the regular lessons and classes at NCMC, many other artists, teachers, and organizations rely on NCMC's space for their programs and events.
So many of us have been touched by NCMC's presence in our lives. It is the place our babies tapped their first tambourine. It is the place we met that singular teacher who forever changed our lives. It is the place we found our voice and shared our deepest emotions. It is the place where making music with others made us lifelong friends. For so many of us, NCMC is our musical home.
Please take this moment to donate. Together, we can make sure NCMC has a home in our community for generations to come.
Thank you!
