Help Northland Swim Club Open for the 2025 Season
Our neighborhood pool is nearly 60 years old and in constant need of repairs and attention. Unlike most of the pools closest to us, we are NOT affiliated with a city or county or village, meaning we get zero assistance from tax dollars like they do. Every year between the time that the pool closes in the fall and opens in the spring we have expenses, and work that needs to be done. We have to have the pump and chlorinators serviced, repaired, or replaced. We paint a significant portion of the pool, and we have fixed expenses like rent, electric, internet (for security cameras), etc. that come with maintaining the facility. This past season saw significant increases in the expenses for chlorine and the hourly rate we needed to pay to be able to hire lifeguards. It’s hard to predict where these costs will go next year, but they certainly will not decrease.
