About Northwoods Humane Society
Our objectives are to place animals in good loving homes. To provide appropriate health care for NHS animals waiting for homes. To work to nurture and train animals so that they are more adoptable. To educate the public on the humane treatment of animals. To administer Spay and Neuter Assistance Programs. To provide a "Pet Visitation" program to local nursing homes. To provide a "Pet Education" program for area schools and the general public. To work cooperatively with the Sawyer County and LCO Dog Pounds (which are independent of NHS). To network community resources to meet the needs of animals. To operate the NHS Shelter.
