Lavender Grace Cinnamon is fundraising
Send Lavender to Bee Conference
This campaign is to send Lavender Grace to the first international Learning from the Bees Conference happening August 31st-September 2nd, 2018 in the Netherlands.
Lavender Grace started working with bees while at Thanksgiving Coffee Company developing the local chapter of Bee Bold Mendocino aligned with the Friends of the Earth’s National Bee Bold campaign. During this time she initiated the City of Fort Bragg in becoming the first Bee City USA in California. As a result, she has fallen in love with bees and with their people. Lavender Grace is the founder of Honey Hive of Mendocino which is the home of the Honey Hive Ensemble (a musical and dance performance group), Intuitive Drum Song, and Honey Hive Consulting.
Lavender has been “called” by the bees. Powered by a deep-seated motivation to study the ancient relationship between bees and the art, her commitment is to learn how to better understand our Earth's amazing and tender ecology, and how to better understand our humanity within this ecology. Lavender has found Bees as her access point. Bees have been a "way in" for many cultures, over many eras and many life times....
Learning from the Bees Conference in the Netherlands is focused on shifting the public perception from contemporary commercial apicultural practices towards a Culture of the Bee, exploring how best to listen to the messages these pollinators are giving us about our relationship with the natural world. Speakers at the conference have come forward from the world of science, bee-centered beekeeping initiatives, charities, honeybee conservation and environmental groups, artists, farmers and educators – representing a diverse and powerful group of notable bee advocates. All share an aspiration to develop strategies to move the bee-centered agenda forward across the world.
This conference will be the first of its kind - and all the funds raised here will be to cover the travel expenses to attend. During the conference Lavender Grace will document the Learning from the Bees Art Exhibit which is a showcase of international eco-poetic and eco-critical art. In addition she has been invited to co-lead the closing ceremony on the final day the conference.
Upon her return, she is scheduled to speak at the local Bee keepers meeting in Fort Bragg, and to share this information with the public, engaging with schools, their art programs, the public libraries, and network with local government.
She will bring the Honey Hive Ensemble to Bee Guilds around Northern California to participate in the evolution and development of Natural Bee Keeping dialogue and consciousness.
Her intention is to continue to educate through community outreach with our children and help bring awareness to how important the bees are to our whole system of life.
With over 30 countries participating and more than 300 people attending this conference, Lavender’s goal is to gather knowledge, bring it home to share through story, song and dance in Northern California through the Honey Hive of Mendocino ~ Sacred Art, Sacred Bees.
"I am grateful that you have taken the time to join this vision. May we create one of beauty and abundance for all" ~ Lavender Grace
Lavender Grace Cinnamon is being sponsored by Bee Bold Mendocino, a local nonprofit dedicated to the benefit of bees, which is fiscally sponsored by The Noyo Food Forest
