WHY
I attended Montgomery College and Salisbury University where I was a member of the basketball team. During my academic career at Salisbury University, I dedicated some of my time to volunteering at a homeless shelter in the area. As soon as I walked into the facility, the kids could immediately tell I was an athlete and ran over eager to play and desperate to learn from me. Their excitement really sparked something in me, and it was a feeling I will never forget. They imprinted on me this feeling of purpose and I was equally enthusiastic and motivated to coach them. I wanted to share the joy and comradery of sports that helped me through the ups and downs of my own life.
After playing with the children and speaking with the staff I was saddened to discover the shelter was underfunded and lacked the supplies these kids needed. The shelter could not provide sports equipment, arts and crafts materials, or even basic school supplies for them to complete their homework. Understandably, the shelter was fighting just to provide the basics for survival. Sports gear, art supplies, and school materials are some of the things that fall through the cracks, not being seen as essential necessities.
From this initial visit I could see these kids were looking for so much more. It was then that I realized some of the simple things in life that we have, like a basketball or any other ball for that matter, can be out of reach for others. I started to reflect and began thinking about how many times throughout my schooling someone asked to borrow a pencil or pen? I never gave it a second thought or considered what their home life may have been like. How access to school supplies could change a person’s entire academic career because not everything is provided by schools.
After my time spent at the youth shelter I always tried to make donations when and where I could just to do my part, but I have always aspired to do more to help the less fortunate. Now, my goals are coming into fruition with the creation of NX Level Sports Inc. Our goal as a non-profit is to not only ensure no student is without school supplies, but that they also have access to sports equipment and art materials to take their passions beyond the classroom and to the NEXT LEVEL.

WHO - (Schools, Foster Homes, Individual Kids, Communities)
WHAT - (Balls, Sporting Gear/Equipment, School Supplies, other Supportive Material)
COVID-19
Due to the pandemic we have pivoted our mission to bring the opportunity to the homes of those in need. We want to ensure that the kids who only get a chance to experience sports at school are getting the chance to advance their skills at home while the virus keeps most of the country on lockdown. Donations will help bring equipment and school/art supplies to children who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to engage in certain activities.

YES, WE ARE TAX EXEMPT
After a contribution is made, a receipt is sent to the donor. Along with 501 C3 tax exempt ID for tax purposes.
Are we donating a portion of our donations to BLM/NAACP?
We created this non-profit with a mission to help give all children an equal chance in succeeding and are continuously reaching out to smaller black owned organizations to see where we can help and who we can donate to. We support equal opportunity and plan to contribute a portion of our donations to the cause.
