Stewards of the Living World: Hampton Beach Cleanup Project
Rivier University – Student Initiative
Hello! We are a group of four students from Rivier University, taking part in a course called Stewards of the Living World. As part of our commitment to caring for the environment, we’ve launched a project to clean up Hampton Beach—one of New Hampshire’s most beautiful and beloved coastal areas.
Our mission is simple but urgent:
➡️ Collect trash from the sand before it’s swept into the ocean and dispose of it properly through Hamptons transfer station.
➡️ Protect marine life from harmful debris like plastic and fishing lines.
➡️ Raise awareness about how small actions can make a big difference for our planet.
➡️ Recruit volunteers to join us in making a visible, lasting impact.
While our hands and hearts are ready for this work, we’re asking for YOUR support to amplify our efforts!
Where Will Your Donation Go?
Every dollar raised through this GoFundMe will be donated directly to Ocean Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that has been protecting ocean life for over 50 years. Ocean Conservancy leads international coastal cleanup efforts and works to reduce the amount of plastic and waste harming marine ecosystems.
You can learn more about them here: www.oceanconservancy.org
Why This Matters:
Pollution on beaches doesn’t just spoil the beauty of the coastline—it seriously endangers marine wildlife. Items like plastic bags, bottle caps, and cigarette butts can end up in the ocean, where they’re often mistaken for food by fish, turtles, and birds. By cleaning Hampton Beach, we’re helping prevent this cycle of harm, and by supporting Ocean Conservancy, we’re contributing to long-term solutions that protect the health of our oceans globally.
