Opera on Tap-OKC Presents: No Justice, No Peace
No Justice, No Peace is an empathetic opera that looks at the effects of police brutality in America. There were 1,021 victims of officer involved shootings in 2020 alone, with black Americans being killed at twice the rate of white Americans.
This story follows Harold Benson, a father navigating therapy after losing his wife, Chole, with his son keeping his spirits up throughout the years and preparing to leave for college. Harold begins to find solace, until a turn of events changes his life forever.
It will take a BIG collaboration of local performers, musicians and artists to bring this story to life. It will also take YOU.
We have a fundraising goal of $15,500 in order to pay performers, musicians and crew, hold workshops and rehearsals, get audio and visual recordings of the performances, etc.
Music has the power to create change, and the ability to move people’s hearts and affect their minds for the betterment of our society. We hope to contribute positive change to this issue and a space for community collaboration with the creation of this work.
