Friends of Edgewater Crew,
Every year since 1963 (oldest continuous rowing program in the state), we’ve strived to bring the best opportunities to our rowers and every year we have been supported by friends, family, and local businesses through fundraisers to pay for those opportunities. This year, we are trying to raise money to help grow our team and to give our rowers new experiences to help them be more competitive. We are looking to raise money to help with additional scholarships, recruitment, new boats, rowing equipment, and travel to competitive regattas in and out of state. In addition, for the first time, our club is purchasing sculling boats to give more of our rowers a chance to be competitive in a broader arena.
Our team is not sponsored financially by Orange County Public Schools and unlike many of our competitors, we are limited to our small scholastic zone for recruiting. Edgewater High School is a small public high school with 60% of the student body considered economically disadvantaged. Our rowers must come from this school zone and in order to grow our team and provide new opportunities to these students, we will need additional funding.
As a registered 501, (c)(3) charitable, educational, non-profit corporation, donations made to Edgewater Crew (Orlando Rowing Association) are tax-deductable in most circumstances. Check with a tax professional to confirm if there are any exceptions in your case.
