Our Town Foundation/Hamburg Strand Theater

Our Town Foundation,  a non-profit community development organization is asking for financial support to continue carrying out their mission  “to promote and preserve downtown historic Hamburg for our families and future generations to enjoy”.  Formed in 2002 they have been instrumental in receiving over $3,500,000.00 in grant funding for the community. In addition to offering business assistance and promoting the area to visitors, they host the annual Taste of Hamburg-er Festival,  administer the Hamburg Area Arts Alliance and own and operate the Hamburg Strand Theater which they purchased in 2013 to save it from its demise.

Here are some of our completed projects: 

*Downtown streetscape including new sidewalks, historical street lights, benches, trash receptacles, American flags, Hometown Heroes banners, holiday decorations  and directional signs
*Hiking and biking trails
* Downtown murals (4)
*Affordable housing project
*Artdrenaline day camp for youth
*Created a community garden for residents to grow their own vegetables and      flowers
*Planting native wildlife habitat gardens at the community park
*Received National Historic District designation for the Borough

Our Town Foundation organizes and hosts the following annual events:

Taste of Hamburg-er Festival, Hamburg Hoopla, Art of the Brew Fest, Garden tours, Spring and Fall community clean-ups, art classes

Due to COVID 19, the Foundation was not able to hold any of their 2020  fundraisers, resulting in a loss of approximately $80,000. 00.  In addition, the Strand Theater has been shuttered since March 14, 2020 with no income being generated.   The Foundation's annual expenses are over $150,000.00.  In order to remain a viable community organization, we need your help!  We want to continue servicing the community as we have for the past 18 years.   Thanks for your support!
