As many of you know, Chloe has been running for the last 7 years. Last year she started training with Pacific Coast Shockwaves. In the spirit of giving back Chloe wanted to lead an effort to help her team with a Go Fund Me.
Brief Overview of Pacific Coast Shock Waves
Their mission is to provide a safe, supportive and fun environment for scholar-athletes to have a positive and meaningful experience participating on a successful high school athletic team.
They take great pride in helping kids achieve their best athletically while fostering high self-esteem, personal accountability, self-discipline, goal setting and goal achievement through hard work. The club keeps the kids active after school and out of trouble as they do not turn away any kids.
The team is rooted in communities that have a greater number of at-risk youths from Compton, Carson, and greater Las Angeles Urban areas like Corona-Fontana, Santa Ana and the Inland Empire. They strive to provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for the kids while having a positive and meaningful experience on and off the track. The club has all-volunteer, safe sport (background checked) specialized coaches. Volunteers include Elementary / High School teachers, three LA Sheriffs, one LAPD member, two LA County Probation Officers and a Social Worker. Board Members include several professionals (i.e., doctors, engineers & successful entrepreneurs).
Since their inception in January of 2014, here are some of the team’s collective accomplishments:
• Trained over 1,200 Athletes
• 7 National Record Holders from 2014-2021 (2nd highest in USA Track & Field Youth)
• Sent over 300 / 600 athletes to USATF Junior Olympics for Cross Country & T&F
o 179 1st place National Championships
o 700+ All Americans (top 8 at Nationals)
• Raised $244K in scholarships; 100% is distributed to the athletes
We are helping lead fundraising efforts to support the kids and coaches. The link allows you to donate to the club directly via Go Fund Me. I realize that most of you already give and have other obligations. Whatever you can contribute will go directly to the team to support the kids.
Please be assured that anything you donate will be 100% tax-deductible; the club is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501© (3) (Pacific Coast Shockwaves).
