Emergency shelter campaign for Pads to Hope
COVID-19 is impacting us all in many ways. While most of us may just be inconvenienced in these trying circumstances, others are having a very difficult go of it. The PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) of Northwest Illinois is currently under extreme stress with closing shelters, reduction of volunteers, and adherence to current health guidelines which is resulting in some of the most vulnerable with no place to go.
This funding request is to meet the urgent sheltering needs of those who are now faced with no place to go
The PADS network of Northwest Illinois has been operating for a decades now successfully providing food and shelter for many of the area homeless, an essential foundation step as individuals and families strive to move back into permanent housing.
This success is directly attributed to organizational leadership of JOURNEYS aka Pads to Hope, along with the additional direct services they provide directly to those in need. While things are rapidly changing, the underlying truth is that this group of people are beginning to lose their shelter.
Seed money has been provided to establish an Emergency Hotel Placement Fund and this GoFund-PADS request is an appeal to bring the fund to level of sheltering all in the program through the current period of uncertainty.
