Palm of Hope

We are the staff and students of a wonderful high school 721K in Brooklyn, NY whose population are students with disabilities.

Our school community has always been very supportive and giving to those in need. As many of you know, Ukraine has been going through difficult times for the past month. With some of our own students and staff having Ukrainian origins, these difficult times have affected them tremendously. Over the last month, they have continuously reached out to relatives and volunteers in Ukraine to gather as much firsthand information as they can about the situation. They have also been in touch with organizations that have been working closely with children with disabilities.

Palm of Hope is an organization that has been established with the intent to assist children with disabilities ranging from SMA, spinal Bifida, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, Duchenne myopathy, and more. They work with families who are in dire need of essential medical supplies for their children. These supplies include but are not limited to bipaps, feeding pumps, suction machines, catheters, formulas, wound care and other important equipment.

All donations will go towards Palm of Hope, who will utilize the proceeds to directly help the disabled children in need. No donation is too big or small, and everything is greatly appreciated!

Dear Friends,

On Feb. 24th, Russia invaded Ukraine. One member of the UTD EMBA Cohort 2022 was directly affected by this war, with family and friends living in Ukraine.

According to the UN Human Rights Organization, as of Mar. 7th 2022, there were at least 1,335 civilian casualties. As Russia continues bombarding Ukrainian cities, this number increases every hour, as does the severity of this humanitarian crisis.

Ukrainian losses of infrastructure have exceeded $10 billion, more than 1.4 million people have fled the country, and at least 160,000 people have been displaced within Ukraine. Our friend Yuriy Berlizov is working with volunteers in the USA and Vienna (Austria), buying, collecting and sending humanitarian aid to those in need in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, and Poltava regions.

We have started this fundraising campaign to create an additional channel for those who would like to support Ukraine’s people whose life turned into a nightmare. Through family in Ukraine, Yuriy will update our donors on how the funds are being dispersed.
