Support Team Wick in Memory of Kris Southwick
Last December, our friend - Kris Southwick - passed away unexpectedly. He was an incredible man; a great husband, father, son, and brother; and a pillar of his community. For those of us who served with him in combat in the Marine Corps, he was a tough, steady leader who inspired us all, and a loyal friend.

Years after he left active duty, Kris showed his trademark toughness by running the Marine Corps Marathon for two decades straight. Several of us thought there was no better tribute to him than running the 2024 MCM in his honor — and raising a little money for the Pat Tillman Foundation as well.

I’m pretty sure he’ll be laughing his ass off from Heaven while watching “Team Wick” hobble to the finish line. But he’ll also be grateful to see your generous support to a foundation that has provided scholarships and grants to military veterans, their spouses, and children.

The Eta Beta chapter is setting a goal of $25,000. It is our hope that in this philanthropic effort we can touch the lives of those who serve us. This cause hits home as a few of our brothers have family members in the military. Any donation is greatly appreciated and goes towards making an amazing impact.

Charlie and Joe Tahoe Tillman Foundation Run
Want to join us in making a difference? Joe and I will be running the 72 miles around Lake Tahoe to benefit the Pat Tillman Foundation, and any donation will help make an impact.

Three months ago on Easter Sunday, Joe and I were having coffee and reminiscing about our bike ride around Lake Tahoe the previous year. We laughed remembering how we thought ourselves to be doing something challenging only to find out that Eric Byrnes had run the 72 miles around the lake that very same day. We didn’t feel so cool after that. Eventually our minds were made up and it was time to start running.. A lot.

If you're going to run, you might as well run for a good cause! All the credit goes to Joe for suggesting we run for the Tillman Foundation. The run will take place Monday, July 5th beginning and ending at Dollar Point in Tahoe City. Please donate anytime between now and after our run! Special thanks to Eric Byrnes who inspired this run.

Family and friends established the Pat Tillman Foundation following Pat’s death in April 2004 while he was serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan. Our mission is to unite and empower remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self. Through the Tillman Scholars program, we are building the leading fellowship program for military veterans and spouses. Founded in 2008, the program supports active-duty service members, veterans and their spouses with academic scholarships, a national network, and professional development opportunities, so they are empowered to make an impact at home and around the world.
