Paterson Education Fund

A great school system that nurtures and develops great musicians ought to have a great band, don't you think?  We're raising money to help Paterson have a marching band at this year's Thanksgiving Football Game. 

Due to budget restrictions, Paterson's had no marching band for an entire generation.  100 Eastside and JFK students and alumni will get together to rehearse and perform at the game this year. It will take a massive effort but the community is up to it! There are plenty of volunteers  committed to lead and to play. 

The excitement is building! They need uniforms and supplies. $5,000 will make it happen.  We hope to get 100 donors giving $50 each. Can you help?  Any size gift will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to our kids.

Our GUFE (Girl’s United For the Earth) team has been invited to present their Environmental Science work in a session entitled “Improving Scientific Literacy and Civic Engagement in High Opportunity Communities Through Design Thinking” at the American Geophysical Union's international Geoscience and Society conference in Stockholm, Sweden. 

This is such an honor for the group and we really want to get them there! The team ranges from a founding member, who is now a Science Education professional, to high school students heading to college this fall.
