Pontifical Solemn (Latin) Mass
The Paulus Institute for the Propagation of Sacred Liturgy
asks for Your Generous Support for our Arrangement of The Pontifical Traditional Latin Mass in Thanksgiving for Summorum Pontificum issued by Pope Benedict XVI to take place at the High Altar of the Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Saturday, April 28, 2018, 1 p.m.
The celebrant is the Most Reverend Alexander K. Sample, Archbishop of Portland in Oregon.
We are now incurring expenses that will be in the neighborhood of $35,000, which includes:
- ½ of EWTN’s production costs for worldwide, live broadcast;
- travel and accommodations and expenses for Archbishop Alexander Sample and sacred ministers;
- honoraria for Archbishop Sample and 10 sacred ministers, and monsignor-commentators for EWTN broadcast;
- fee for the magnificent Basilica choir;
- honoraria for the Schola (Gregorian chant) and two Schola Cantora of youths from Ohio and New Jersey
- professional photography
- Mass programs (3000)
- postage for 75+ packages of personal invitations to bishops, priests, and nuns and sisters
- and follow-up activities to enhance the appreciation of this Mass.
The Mass will be its own powerful testimony. We expect with your help and attendance even more so than our 2010 pontifical Shrine Mass. The EWTN video will be a witness of the Mass on YouTube as an encouragement to others. But because of the significance of the National Shrine in Washington, which is our nation’s church, it brings forward the force of all the Catholic Faithful.
To defray the expenses for this Mass, your kind donations to The Paulus Institute as soon as possible will be most appreciated, generated through your participation in this GoFundMe appeal by all who have waited so long for this Mass.
The Paulus Institute is a non-profit organization, federal EIN: 26-0788272, making your donation deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Thank you for supporting The Paulus Institute and the propagation of Sacred Liturgy. Lex orandi, lex credendi.
Please address any questions to The Paulus Institute, P.O. Box 201, Great Cacapon, WV 25422.
And please keep us in your prayers.
