Pawerful Birthday Fundraiser!
Hey everyone. As a way of distracting myself from a certain upcoming 'milestone' birthday, I've decided to redirect my energy towards doing something pawsitive for animals.
I have been following the Pawerful Rescue on Instagram for a few years now and have come to have so much respect and admiration for what they do. This organization rescues the dogs who are most in need - those who have been neglected and/or abandoned by their families because they are old, or sick, or too much work. Pawerful Rescue takes on the most difficult rescues and either provides loving, end-of-life care, or works to rehabilitate the animals to the point where they can be adopted into forever homes.
They do an amazing job of documenting the stories of these animals and giving their followers a realistic picture of what it takes to give the rescued dogs the lives that they deserve. It is not always as glamorous or instantaneous as what we might see on other rescue's social media accounts. Please check out the Pawerful Rescue on IG @thepawerfulrescue and help spread the word about the great work that they do.
Instead of birthday gifts or celebrations, I'm hoping that friends and family might consider making a small donation to the Pawerful Rescue.
In addition to this fundraiser, our family has decided to foster a dog for the first time! Already doing more than his share to provide distraction from the big midlife bday, we would like you to meet Todd!
He is an 8-month-old puppy (unknown mix) who, until we picked him up on February 23rd, had never lived in a house before. Thanks in large part to our dogs, Sweetpea and June, Todd is adjusting to the home environment and we are doing our best to spoil him with love and positive attention, as well as helping him learn some domestic manners. He's such a sweet guy!
Thanks for reading my story and for considering making a donation or maybe just showing some extra kindness and love to a doggo in your life today!
