Pigs Peace Sanctuary
Honey shouts "PLEASE HELP MY SANCTUARY!!"
Pigs Peace Sanctuary is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing a safe home for unwanted, abused or neglected animals in need and is committed to spreading the message of compassion and respect for all animals. Founded in 1994, the sanctuary provides medical care, a healthy diet, socialization, a permanent home and loving kindness. Our other main purpose is to educate the public about the characteristics and needs of pigs as well as the abuses often associated with exotic pet fads.
Pigs Peace Sanctuary is a premiere facility helping animals and educating people. We specialize in the lives of pigs (with around 180 at the sanctuary),but we also have welcomed other animals in need and are currently home to horses, llamas, dogs, cats and sheep. 100% of donations go towards the care of the animals who call the sanctuary home. For additional information, please visit www.pigspeace.org.
Pigs Peace Sanctuary is in need of funds to feed and transport pigs, and we are in URGENT need of a new van. Director / Founder Judy Woods has been using the same van for 15 years and over 150,000 miles. The van hauls hay, lumber, feed, all materials needed at the sanctuary and, most importantly, PIGS. The current van has been overworked over the years and Judy desperately needs a new one to ccomodate transporting the pigs, as well as her massive weekly hauls. Judy will travel hundreds of miles to rescue a pig. Over the summer, she drove to Montana to rescue sweet Honey, who had been found on the floor board of a truck where she had spent her entire short life. Judy was concerned that the van would not make the long distance, but also feared that Honey would not survive the trip due to the heat in the back of the van.
The sancturary desperately needs a van with the following requirements:
- Full ton passenger van
- Extended bed
- Back end with heating / cooling for long distance travel any time of year.
Pigs Peace Sanctuary is fully funded by donations, so the purchase of the new van relies on the generosity of Pigs Peace supporters. Please consider giving to support this urgent need.
