I'm running the Boston Marathon 2024!
After spending the majority of my life being very anti-running, during COVID as a last resort to stay fit started getting my miles in (as I'm sure many of us did!) and caught the bug from there.
Never run a marathon before, though have done a couple of half marathons. I love a good challenge and the training is well and truly underway.
I've been given a fortunate opportunity where I don't have to fundraise for a spot - that being said I would still love to raise some money for a good cause. The cost of living crisis is affecting our world and homelessness is on the rise. So, I've chosen Boston-local Pine Street Inn as my charity of choice.
Pine Street Inn partners with homeless individuals to help them move from the streets and shelter to a home and assists formerly homeless individuals in retaining housing. They provide street outreach, emergency services, supportive housing, job training and connections to employment. They tirelessly advocate for collaborative solutions to end homelessness. Their vision is a permanent home and community for everyone.
Thanks in advance for any donation you can make and hopefully putting my body through 26 miles can make a difference to someone's life out there.
