Pippi's Place Pet Rescue

16-week-old Kai needs our help! He was found alongside a busy street, squealing in pain and dragging his leg. He was taken to a local animal control facility where the vet determined that he was most likely thrown from a car. Kai’s leg is broken in multiple places, including along the growth plate. The only option is to amputate. Kai’s surgery will cost $1500. This little guy is worth every penny! Kai purrs constantly. When held, he reaches up to his foster mom to gently touch his paw to her face as if to say thank you. He is the king of “biscuit makers.” He lays on his back to toss his little mousie between his paws. Kai’s light of love shines brightly! My name is Koa. It means “warrior”. My foster mommy calls me that because I am a tiny little kitten with the heart of a great big lion! A nice person found me sitting alone in a park when I weighed a little under 1 pound. She said it looked as if I was waiting to die because I was so still. I had almost given up, but not quite. The nice lady took me to a safe place. For the past 2 1/2 months, I have had to take lots of yucky medicine. I have sat calmly while foster mommy put drops and ointment in my eyes. A few days ago, I was finally big enough to have my eyeballs removed. Foster mommy told me we had to do that because the animal doctor said I would eventually die of a brain infection or cancer if I did not have the surgery. I have a wonderful life ahead of me because I am such an easy-going, joyful little boy! My little purr motor is so loud; it hardly ever stops. My favorite thing is cuddle time. I am so happy to receive affection and have much love to share with everyone. I walk all over foster mommy’s house mostly by myself. I get a little confused sometimes, but she calls me and I come running to her voice. The surgery was expensive but the rescue people know that I am worth every penny.
