Donate & Help Repair Piru Homes From Flood Damage
Please join us in making a difference. We are raising money to benefit Piru Residents via Piru Neighborhood Council Inc, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to those in need from all the flood damage. PNC is raising funds to rent work trucks and tools needed to remove mud and damage from homes affected by mudslides and flooding.
Monday, January 9th, our community was ravaged by a devastating natural disaster.
Heavy rains unleashed mudslides and flooding in Piru, California. Sending
boulders and other debris down Main street & Orchard Street and promoting
evacuation for residents affected. This natural disaster damaged structures, inside
homes with 2 feet of mud flowing down the affected homes. The mud was so high it took down everything it came across. Video and photos were captured as the mudflow
was pouring down Main street and Orchard Street. The town's volunteers (CERT Team) took action on Monday evening helping those residents that were trapped in their homes as others tried opening the drains with shovels even though they were all plugged up with all the mud and debris. For many homes, it was tragic.
The Rodriguez kids ran for safety as they were experiencing a mudslide in their backyard, watching the mud and loud boulders come down their driveway as their home had up to 3-4 feet of mud up against the house.
There are many stories like this from Piru families who live in the area of mudslides and flooding.
All of that dirt turns to mud and starts slipping down the mountains, creating dangerous environments for our residents.
Local PNC (Piru Neighborhood Council) is raising funds to help those victims
affected by the Mudslides and flooding from this severe rain damage. All donations to
this fund will support recovery and relief efforts in Piru, California. By funding the
relief efforts of local organizations, donations to this fund have the potential to
build stronger response capacity so that these organizations are better equipped to
face future challenges and support the needs of our people in Piru. Any amount will help! Thanks so much for being a help to our Community!
*We will also be hosting a volunteering event to help those needing it on Saturday 1/21/23 from 11am-4pm Registration & parking @ Warring Park. Bring a shovel or wheelbarrow if you have one. :)
