One year in, and the journey continues! Dr. John Francis and Planetwalk Africa are bringing environmental education, climate action, and life-saving telemedicine to underserved communities. Your support empowers students, trains citizen scientists, and delivers vital care where it’s needed most. Join us—every step moves us toward a better future!

In July 2025, Dr. John Francis, the Planetwalker, will resume an extraordinary 6,000-mile walking journey from Cape Town to Cairo to educate children and youth about the interconnectedness of kindness, science, and stewardship of our planet. At the same time, he will be building a cadre of young citizen scientists and future leaders.

Working in partnership with GLOBE, a worldwide science and education program, students will collect scientific data to share with NASA as they learn about kindness, the environment, and Planetwalk Clubs, an upcoming global effort that will amplify children’s voices as they learn to take charge of their future.

Your donation will also help Planetwalk Africa bring telemedicine to underserved communities along Dr. Francis’s route. Through pop-up telemedicine clinics hosted by VSee, women and children and others in need will gain access to remote medical professionals they would otherwise never have the opportunity to consult. This initiative allows doctors to share their expertise and kindness with those lacking basic healthcare. Our hope is that these visits plant the seeds for a lasting healthcare network that continues to support these communities long after Planetwalk passes through.

With your help, Dr. Francis will reach Botswana in September with a renewed commitment to engage and educate the students he meets, sharing as he goes through the Planetwalk website and social media. All this to counter today’s divisive and negative dialogue regarding climate science and humanity.

✅ Transportation to & from Africa – Covering flights and overland travel.

✅ Communication & Technology – Including a StarLink satellite internet subscription so Dr. Francis can stay connected and share real-time data.

✅ Video & XR/VR Documentation – Capturing the walk to share the journey with the world, especially our children and youth.
