Project Rainbow Utah

Last year, local realtors named our street, “The Gayborhood.”  First, came offense that we were labeled.  Then, as the houses went up, the support for community, social justice and diversity did too.  We embraced what a community should be.  We began showing support with our #LoveIsLove and rainbow flags, then came #BlackLivesMatter along with #CureSearchforChildrensCancer, and the support for #OperationUndergroundRailroad.  I know this list of outward support will only continue to grow.  Why?  Because we care! We are a community of change agents.

This year, the majority of our neighborhood families donated to Project Rainbow and proudly flew our PRIDE flags.  Until last night; someone stole our flags from our yards.  We’ve reported this incident to the Herriman police department. We’ve also sifted through camera footage, to no avail. Now it’s time to right the wrong.  We will overcome this crime and  smother it with positivity.  We want to show the offenders that we won’t stop just because you took our flags.  Change does not happen when we accept defeat.  Change does not happen when we fall silent.  So help us to not be silent!  Help us gather donations to not only replace our neighborhood flags, but give support to purchase even more for other neighborhoods.
