Everyone knows someone. It's no secret teen suicide rates are growing exponentially higher every year. Suicide rates have increased by over 60% in 20 years and we've seen a 51% increase in suicide attempts just since 2019. According to the CDC, over 5,400 kids grades 7 through 12 attempt suicide DAILY in the US alone. We are now even seeing over 500 young children yearly ages 7-12 taking their own lives.
Sit with those numbers for a second.
Isn't it time we all come together to support real and lasting change?
Promly has brought together seasoned mental health experts along side of an amazing Gen Z team to envision and create solutions that will preventatively impact teens. We partner with many other nonprofits to create a meaningful ecosystem recognizing there is no one organization alone that can meet all the needs of kids.
Suicide IS preventable and together, we can bring our world better, proactive solutions for this generation of kids in a mental health crisis.
Promly Changemakers is a 501c3 aimed at getting 10 steps ahead of teen suicide through outreach, education, partnerships, empowerment and tech solutions. We don't wait for a crisis and instead provide mental health resources for Gen Z in their world.
However, we can’t do it without your help!
For example,
$25 will help us safely onboard 25 high school students with age detection software.
$100 will help us provide AI to detect self harming and suicidal behavior and content moderation for 6 months for 100 users.
$1,000 will help us produce and promote 1 podcast episode further providing ongoing education and empowerment for listeners.
$2,500 will provide a stipend for a full time summer intern.
$5,000 will support urban outreach, arts and an internship program in urban high schools.
Your overall support will help us:
1.) Offer a safer social networking platform, exclusively for teens, with built in mental health support via the Promly app, featuring cutting edge AI, security and safety measures.
2.) Amplify and validate the voice of Gen Z through:
-Publications and podcasts
-Internships for high school and college students
3.) Unite and inspire Gen Z in the real world by hosting community and teen centered music events bringing together celebs, influencers, thought leaders, and ChangeMakers to amplify the reach of partner nonprofits and give HOPE to a generation in desperate need.
4.) Advocate for the mental health and safety of Gen Z by working with Congress on changes in legislation and research to better support adolescents.
5.) Educate communities and stakeholders on mental health issues most pressing for teens, through speaking engagements, community outreach and webinars.
6.) Promote the wide range of mental health resources available to teens that they do not even know exist.
