Red Lantern Opportunity Hub- Join Us!
The Red Lantern Opportunity Hub
The Red Lantern Bike Shop takes a proactive approach to connecting bicycles to individuals who have limited access to obtaining them. Our vision is one of refurbishing and redistributing bicycles into underserved populations, including children and those with limited access to transportation. We believe in equity, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship.
The Red Lantern Bike Shop has been given the opportunity to purchase The United Calvary Church of Christ in Turtle Creek. Located right off of the Tri-Boro Expressway, we see the Red Lantern Opportunity Hub as another space that will connect the amazing work that is happening in the Mon Valley while expanding our reach in the Greater Pittsburgh Region.
We will open a full fledged refurbished bicycle shop, offer professional bike repair and continue our free kid bike giveaways (we've given away over 7,000 kid bikes in the region and counting!). We want to train local teens on how to be bike mechanics and hire them to work at the hub. We want to host group rides with youth. But there is more!
This church has a full commercial kitchen, a wonderful thrift store, and a chapel where we plan to host community events, musicians, poets, and artists.
The opportunities are endless! And we need your help to get this project funded.
