Rescued Animals Second Chance Inc. of Lubbock, Texas, is a 501(c)(3) organization formed to promote animal welfare through rescue, permanent shelter, veterinary care, and rehabilitation of unwanted, neglected, abused, and starving horses in the West Texas region. We are the largest horse rescue sanctuary in the West Texas region. The rescue includes a commitment to these horses throughout the rest of their lives. Rehabilitation for neglected, abused, and starving horses involves a long-term process that includes both physical and mental adaptation to humans. Most of our horses have been abused and malnourished on their way to kill pens in Mexico where they face a cruel death. RASC personnel work gently and patiently with each to encourage them to trust humans again.
