Joe's Dollars To Donuts for RMHC Winston-Salem
I'm Joe Caramagna, writer and letterer of comic books and graphic novels for Disney, Marvel, Harper-Collins, Dark Horse Comics, IDW, First Second and more, and I'm a well-known donut lover.
Ever since I got my second shot of the Covid vaccine I've been walking to my local Krispy Kreme to take advantage of their offer of one free Original Glazed Doughnut per day for the rest of the year for those who show their CDC vaccination card. It's been fun to see how many I can get, but I wanted to do something to pay the kindness forward.
I decided that every week starting today I will DOUGH-nate (har har) $1 for every free Krispy Kreme doughnut I get that week to the Ronald McDonald House of Winstom-Salem, NC...which happens to be where the Krispy Kreme Doughnut, Inc. is headquartered.
My goal is to reach 125 free doughnuts by December 31, but I hope that some of you will join in on the fun and help make a difference by matching my dough-nations or sending whatever dough-nations you can afford, whenever you want. And maybe, just maybe, we can get Krispy Kreme to match our donations as well.
The Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem provides a "home-away-from-home" for families with children receiving medical treatment in our community's medical facilities. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
