Keith Yates, a US Army Veteran and a two times Iraq War Veteran, has been a resident of the community of Yelm for the past 17 years.
On March 25th and 26th, Keith will run a 100-mile foot race at the Badger Mountain Challenge in Richland, WA and dedicate his effort to the Rotary Club of Yelm and their Summer Food Program.
Rotary Club of Yelm's Summer Food Program
During the summer months, many school-age children experience food insecurity. For the past 6 years the Rotary Club of Yelm has stepped in to help fill that void. We provide weekly food bags geared for children that normally receive free or reduced meals at school. We strive to ensure that each bag has breakfast, lunch and snack items for the week and is available at a convenient distribution spot for easy pick-up. Our program costs approximately $30,000 for one summer. We work to keep the costs low by fundraising and buying in bulk.
Keith would like to recognize and support the Rotary Club of Yelm with this gofundme fundraiser for the great work they do for the community, all while asking for nothing in return. We are excited and ready for our community to help and hope that you will help us with a donation of any size.
The Rotary Club of Yelm is a 501 (c)3 established in 2010 serves the Yelm Community with various service projects centered around youth. Our mission is to support youth in the Yelm and surrounding communities. For more information, please visit the website at www.yelmrotary.org
