S.Y.STEM Coalition's mission is to lead the coalition of industry and education to steer youth to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through experience-based learning. And their vision is to end poverty through STEM education, experiences, and industry partnership for all students.

One of Zimbabwe’s current challenges is employment, and some estimates put Zimbabwe’s unemployment rate at a whopping 90%. A STEM education is a powerful launchpad for a career in the technical industry, and we hope to help address some of the employment challenges students face upon graduation from high school in Nyadire, while addressing the great need for employees in the computer science and related fields.
We are hoping to raise $16,000 so we can:
- Send three S.Y.STEM Coalition volunteers to Nyadire High School June 2022
- Conduct 10 hands-on robotics workshops with middle school and high school students
- Initiate a year-long Coding Club for the students using content from CS Academy
- Work with the High School administration to ensure longevity of the Coding Club
- Provide an opportunity for the advisor to travel to the U.S. in 2022 for additional training
