Dear Sacred Heart Families and friends in Christ,

I hope that you are all doing very well.

Our Holy Father, in his letter to inaugurate the Year of St Joseph on the 150th anniversary of the declaration of St Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church, wrote to all of us that St Joseph is ‘…the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence’.

St Joseph is indeed present and active on a daily basis in each of our lives. I have found this Year of St Joseph to be a constant invitation to entrust everything to the fatherly care of St Joseph and to turn to him more and more as a powerful intercessor for all Sacred Heart Apostolic School families. I believe St Joseph is watching over all of us in a special way this year!

I am writing to you all because we would like to honor St Joseph’s presence in our lives in a special way by purchasing a statue of St Joseph for our chapel here at Sacred Heart! The statue we are looking to purchase is from the same artist in Italy who made the statue we currently have of Our Blessed Mother in the chapel. The overall cost with shipping and handling will come out to $10K USD.

I am reaching out to all of you because I would like to give you all an opportunity to help support this initiative. Anything you can give to help us raise the money to buy this statue will be greatly appreciated. St Joseph is a tremendous example that each of the boys here at Sacred Heart can aspire toward. In St Joseph the boys find a saintly model of true Christian manhood, of faith, of obedience to God, of humility, service, and courage.

With the Solemnity of St Joseph just a few days away, please be assured of my prayers. I will be offering Mass on the Solemnity of St Joseph in a special way for all the families of our Sacred Heart community.
